Re: USB -> Cat 5



I reccommend you the following:
- use all the pairs (8-wire)
- use one pair for differential data (the two thinner wires in an USB
cable)
- use one pair for the USB internal power (thicker wires)
- use one pair for GND (external power)
- use one pair for +5V (external power)
In that way, you can further add powered USB repeaters(Hubs) to extend the
length and keep the maximum available power per port.
