Put simply. Yes

The motherboard architecture and bus speeds alone make it a worth while
upgrade, I'm assuming your getting it for free, or next to free as they
don't make these any more.

Any one else who's wondering, you can pick up a 1.3 gig duron for 29.54

scales at just over 60 quid (inc. VAT, +del)

There really hasn't been a better time to build a nice powerfull PC for
almost no money, 300 quid goes a long way these days, a lot further than
it did even this time last year
