Hmmm, I'm sorely tempted too...

You say it's not pin-sharp - are you using (digital) DVI or analogue?

We've got a couple of flat panels at work and there was a noticable
improvement going from analogue to DVI...

Following yesterday's post, I decided to take the plunge and buy the Acer
AL712 17" LCD monitor for £250 + £6 delivery + VAT from Insight. This
is
intended for office type applications only...no gaming.

I ordered it just before noon and decided to save £3 and go for "2-3
day"
delivery rather than "next business day". That seems to have been
a sound
choice because it arrived about 11am today!

After connecting it to my PC, the first thing I did was turn the brightness
DOWN. Too bright for my liking :-o

It's certainly not as pin-sharp as my CRT, but will probably do just fine.
