For Sky / Sky+ the dish points in a south-easterly direction. Dunno about
broadband though, other than "generally south".

Sky is at 28.2 degrees east of South.

Broadband will be on whichever satellite your provider uses but is likely
to
be either Astra at 19.2 degrees east of south or Hot Bird at 13 Degrees
east
of south. Dish sizes may depend on which beam they are using but likely to
be 60cm for Astra and 60/80 for Hotbird (your location will make a
difference to available signla and therefore dish size - sizes quoted are
typical for the South/Central UK).

Channel Master or Triax are fine for dishes, but there are plenty of others
that will do the job satisfactorily. You also need a reasonable LNB (that's
the electronics on the end of the dish) but their not so easy to pick out
as
the specifications tend to be fairly aribitrary these days ie they're not
measured individually unless you pay a lot of money. Most brands tend to be
fairly reliable given the extreme conditions they have to work in, but I
would avoid Cambridge which perform well but have been less relaible for us
than others (although they perform very well when they do work).

Nick
