I'd concur with Paul's response re: cabling. You need a double screened
(usually a foil and braid) coax e.g. CT100 / CT125 for digital satellite,
not the low quality "TV coax". Minimise the number of joins in
the cable and only use fully-screened wall plates. Alternatively make your
own wall plates by drilling a blank one to accept a panel-mount F-plug
coupler.

For Sky / Sky+ the dish points in a south-easterly direction. Dunno about
broadband though, other than "generally south".
