OT: DVD Media

I have an Alpine in car DVD player, which plays DVD's and VCD's but not CDR
or CDRW. Whilst it is not mentioned anywhere I am hoping that it might be
able to play DVD-RW or DVD+RW media.  Is anyone on the list able to confirm
this, alternatively is there some kind sole who could lend me either a
DVD-RW or DVD+RW disk with something on it so I can test before going out
and buying a DVD writer.

There is no mention on dvdhelp.com of the DVA-5205P player, and I have
tried
both CDR and CDRW VCD's myself with no luck in the player. Also Alpine
themselves being ever helpful would only readme the second page of the
product brochure !!!
