That's a shame - I was thinking about this unit - To do short run CD and
DVD printing as I send out a few a week to customers. But it has to be
quick and simple to do.

Does the ink smudge 'feature' affect all ink-jet printed CD/DVD's ? or
do the white ink-jet printable type have some kind of 'ink fixing'
surface?

Paul.

I have a Matisse Gold CD printer.

To be frank, I find the whole process really tedious - getting the right
ink
setting is fiddly, and alignment is a pain.

Also you have to print through Paint Shop Pro (I think), which means
importing jpegs from Photoshop, etc.

If you weren't relying on it for business, or too regularly and are
prepared
for the hassle, its worth doing, but if you print regularly or need a
fast
solution, look elsewhere.

Also, as its ink jet you really DO have to spray the surface to seal it,
or
the print comes off on your fingers...

I
think?

The TDK one?

2 seperate printable areas (one at the top, one at the bottom), single
colour (ribbons available in several colours but only one in at a time)
according to review in one of the mags (think it was computer & video
editing or something like that) it isn't identified by windows as a
printer, so you *have* to use the supplied software, which isn't
particularly good at best.

The same mag said it should have a review next month of this one :-
O'Dixion DP-02 CD Printer
