RE: Any recommendations for ceiling speakers
I hadn't thought of that I must admit, although there really is only a very
small gap perhaps only a few mm between the top of the speaker and the
chipboard floor above. I'll listen to it further over the weekend and
think
through what to do - the chipboard floor is only a sub-floor anyway, for
some oak floorboards (which I haven't laid yet so perhaps I'd better decide
now rather than later!).
Thanks for the suggestions.

How about going to your local car spares place (maybe Halfords?) and get
some sound deadening material they use for cars?

I started listening properly to my B&W CCM20's last night, and I
ceiling
mounted them between our old oak beams, and placed wooden blocks between
the
beams in the ceiling void. As there's virtually no gap between the top of
the speaker and the chipboard floor above, there's almost an effective
speaker enclosure - however, in the room above there's an awful lot of the
bass end of the sound that can be heard. I can't, but if possible I'd
recommend some form of sound proofing above any enclosure.
