RE: Any recommendations for ceiling speakers
I started listening properly to my B&W CCM20's last night, and I
ceiling
mounted them between our old oak beams, and placed wooden blocks between
th=
e
beams in the ceiling void. As there's virtually no gap between the top of
the speaker and the chipboard floor above, there's almost an effective
speaker enclosure - however, in the room above there's an awful lot of the
bass end of the sound that can be heard. I can't, but if possible I'd
recommend some form of sound proofing above any enclosure.

Well last night I tried the highly scientific approach of cutting a hole in
a cardboard box and inserting one of the henrys speaker in it. I have to
say that there was a very noticeable change in the sound reproduced. We
need to have our ceilings plaster boarded (they are covered in glue where
the original ceiling tiles were) so I'm going to mount the speakers in the
position we want and move on to the in location testing phase.
By the way the speaker source switch from Maplins that Mark H pointed out
for running the speakers off of two sources works great and only cost
