We ran blind tests with similarly priced Sonance, Speakercraft and KEF in
ceiling speakers (plus some others) and got customers, reps and staff to
evaluate them. These three came out head and shoulders above the others
with
the KEFs being the favourite with over 75% of listeners.

The KEFs used for the test were the Ci160QRs which include the newest Uni-Q
driver as used in the Q-Series range of conventional hi-fi and AV speakers.
If we were comparing products at a lower price point (sub ?200 pair) then
the KEFs may not stand out the same as the others in the range currently
use
the older Uni-Q driver.

The test was not in any way rigged, we were in fact hoping that one of the
others would be favourite as KEF would not be our first choice politically.

In summary, whilst sound quality is particularly subjective we did find the
choice heavily weighted toward the KEFs but it's fair to say that the
Sonance and Speakercraft units were also very good and would be unlikely to
disappoint.

As far as larger ceiling mounts then my money always goes on Sonance
units. IMHO they sound better than anything I've listened too, but every
bodies ear is different. I have Sonance in all rooms including a 6.1 set
up in the living room. www.sonance.com

Or a VERY close second is Speakercraft. www.speakercraft.com

Many thanks
