laptop LCD adapter

Slightly on topic in terms of reusing a laptop LCD display as an
informatio=
n
panel. The laptop in questions fan failed and hence burnt out the
processor, damaged the motherboard and melted the case, but presumably the
display still works. It's a Samsung LT1411X7 and appears to use a single
channel LVDS data bus. Has any one tried fitting one of these with an
adapter so a normal PC VGA or digital graphics card can drive it? Had a
quick look in RS and a special isa graphics card is available for approx.
=A3300, a cheap LCD monitor costs less than =A3200!
