Paul,

If the emitter is small enough (I've got some with feedback LED that are
tiny) you could try and stick it just above viewing card.  The front flap
is
easy to remove.  You could run the wire out under the box and clip the door
back on.

Might work.

PS I'm trying to figure out how to control 2 Sky+ boxes at Node 0 - since
Sky/Pace have made a stupid decision regarding IR control.
