I would take the figure of 0.003 lux with a pinch of salt, that may be the
theoretical performance of the CCD but with a very small fixed iris lens in
front of it, no way hosay!

As a mater of interest here is an idea of different lux levels:-

Full sunlight             10,000-1,000,000
Overcast day          100-10,000
Twilight                   1-10
Full moon                0.1-1
Overcast night         0.01-0.1
Starlight clear          0.001-0.01
Starlight overcast     0.00001-0.001

I would agree that if you want low light or infra red performance go for
mono.
