Funny you should ask that, but I was chatting with Stuart Poulton about

s the other day and my RCM3000 dev kit just arrived today so I am off home

tonight to have a play with it.

I ordered the 3000 version even though it only comes with a 256/128K
device=
it will be ideal to get started. You can easily buy a 512K version later i=
f you need the space but for me, the 256K will be ample. I only paid
=C2=A3=
240 INC for it so it is good value.

The great thing about getting the latest kit is that you now get the full
s=
tandard version of Dynamic C V8 with it. This has all the libraries
(except=
the additional uC/OS-II stuff etc) unlike the older V7 kits which had a st=
ripped down eval version. Make sure the kit you buy is the latest ones
with=
the V8 software and not the older V7.

I'll be able to update you later once I have had a play with mine. Off to
o=
rder and LCD controller for it to do the graphics stuff.!!

same cost - currently I am veering towards a 3000 dev kit - is this a
sensible choice ? - it looks like the lowest cost unit in small quantitie=

to produce the best priced final product.
However the 2100 dev kit is the only one that includes the higher
capacity 512K/512K, all the rest bundle the smaller family members 256/12=

device as standard. - The  bigger device may be better for initial
development (code bloat). Can I buy this dev kit and use it with the 3000
cores too ? Or just buy any dev kit and a couple of cores as needed.
Lastly , will I find that I should have (need) the extra =C2=B5C/OS=

Real-Time Kernel as well ? Application is the xAP gateway (embedded versi=
on)
- ie Ethernet udp plus 2 serial ports at mid speed.
