Hi..

I have one of these monitors (& tuner) =E2=80=93 it was the one I used
at t=
he UKHA event.=20

Overall (for the money) I am well pleased with the monitor =E2=80=93 I
have=
it connected using dual inputs =E2=80=93 one DVI and one normal =E2=80=93 =
the DVI is, as expected, much better than the ordinary analogue one. But
bo=
th are acceptable and I use the machine with the analogue connector most
of=
the time due to my PC=E2=80=99s configuration.

The tuner is OK (just) =E2=80=93 the screen is a little large for close
(mo=
nitor style) TV viewing =E2=80=93 you see quite a bit of pixilation and
con=
trast is a bit washy =E2=80=93 but from a distance it=E2=80=99s much more
a=
cceptable although not a patch on some of the dedicated LCD TV=E2=80=99s =
=E2=80=93 it is not a Nicam tuner so no stereo =E2=80=93 although there is

an external audio output jack that mutes the internal speakers =E2=80=93
wh=
ich are a bit tinny. Also there is no =E2=80=98picture in picture=E2=80=99
=
function =E2=80=93 despite this being on the manufacturers web site as an
o=
ption =E2=80=93 this =E2=80=98may=E2=80=99 be offered in a later revision
o=
f the product though.

I have a slight fault on mine in that on turn on from cold I get speckles
o=
n the screen for the first minute or so =E2=80=93 but it disappears and as
=
mostly I leave the monitor on with the auto powerdown this has not worried

me =E2=80=93 just a heat/tolerance issue I guess.

I was looking at these ... does the TV Tuner receive Stereo, and can you

tput to a seperate amplifier ?  I couldn't find any specs ...

Any comments ? It says it's liable to the dead-pixel policy and to check=

with the manufactuer - and that is Dabs and says nothing !

I'd get the =C2=A320 tuner module and use it as a replacement TV in the=20
