Mark - looks like another problem here - the red led should come on as
soon
as you open a HyperTerminal session on that port - the baud rate and flow
control are not even required to be set (correctly) to accomplish this.



Re the xAP connector - I have now installed and run this and it works
perfectly on XP, so I think you have a hardware issue. Could your Meteor
have become fried too by the power surge ? Or one last possibility - could
the port you are using somehow not be the correct one or be in use by
another application ? I think the latter is unlikely as if another
application had grabbed it I suspect the Meteor light would be on, unless
there is another way of reserving a port without actually opening it.

Mark,

The meteor unit works under xAP with Patricks connector. I've only used
it under linux, but upon starting the xAP connector the power LED on the
meteor illuminates :)
