The new v2.6 wap11s seem to imply that they can be a client but I could not
find any info on the v2.1/2.2 versions.
I have now budgeted for 2 new WET-11s and will reuse the wap's to increase
the coverage area.

Certainly when they first added this feature, the WAP11 could only act as a
client AP when connected to another WAP11 (and hence the WET11 was reviewed
as being slightly better in that it could connect to any AP).

However this may have changed in subsequent firmware releases.

Unless the Linksys website or manual explicitly states it will work with
other APs, I would assume the limit still exists.
