Wasn't thinking about playing with the quality - only the compression
algorithm used. But MPEG-2 is fine for me.

How dare you suggest I'd use a video phone? :-) Can't stand the things.

Don't you go compressing my lovely MPEG-2 file that I spent so much time
trying to keep in the highest quality possible!!! ;)

Blimey, you'll be wanting to compress it for a video phone next!

Paul.

You're right! Oops! :-)

I don't think this really changes the argument though. I'm happy to do
it over several nights, as there's someone who's happy to host it. It
may be a bit of a wait, but my PC does nothing in the evenings so it's
not the end of the world. I've also got the software to split the file,
or convert it to a slightly less space-heavy format if necessary.

Thinking about it, it might be nice to split the file by product, so
that people could only download the bit that interested them?

Rgds,
Jake.

Jake

I suspect your calculations might not have taken bits/bytes into
account.

1.3 Gigabytes should take 14 hours at 256 kilobits/sec even ignoring
protocol overheads. ?

Regards

Dean
