Sorry for the late comment - been in Australia (Sydney) last week.

Probably worth mentioning Frank that I actually modified LIRC (Linux IR
project) to work with FirM and hence is fairly generic.  Mr House simply
connects to a UDP port to get the IR info from the LIRC server.

By the way - for what it is worth, I am well pleased with FirM to date.
I use it not just as an IR repeater but also as direct control via Mr
House.
