The user guide for the AIW 9700 Pro is somewhat vague - there's a
warning in there about the monitor refresh rate being locked to 50Hz
when also driving a PAL TV, but I'm not convinced. That's why I'd like
to find someone who's actually tried it.

I like the ATI cards, but to be honest a Matrox would probably be plenty
fast enough.
