You'll need to get a special kind of dimmer that can cope with this kind of
load - don't use a standard dimmer!



With the popularity of halogen lighting, these should be relatively easy to
find - especially if you go to an electrical wholesaler.

I've purchased some low voltage Halogen lights with an MFI cubboard, theres
4 lights and 2 transformers.  I'd like to wire them up to a mains dimmer
switch.  The instructions don't say anything about dimming, except that
they
say they must be connected at 240V.

Is it likely to work or be a good idea if I just power the 240AC in via a
dimmer switch?
