RE: Camera Heights

Mick,

I experimented with various hights and found that mith cheap camereas
anything above 8 feet meant that the angle was useless to recognise
anything. Infact I actually opted for around 7 feet on most of the cameras,
on the basis that by the time any one would be able to get to the camera to
destroy it their image would already have been captured. For me the main
thing was to be able to provide facial recognition (rather than bald spot
recognition) and read a number plate on a vehicle.

Does anyone have a view on camera heights for external surveillence?

I intend installing cheapo homebase models to start but will probably
upgrade these fairly soon (probably very soon as the weather will zap
them).

I guess they need to be out of reach anyway but if they are too high then
there will be little detail.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Mick
