Re: Gate automation

The best running gear for a sliding gate would be a cantilever system, this
is like an upside down sliding door track but larger running on two sets of
wheels.
The benefit is you have no track across the road the gates slides across in
mid air, the design of the gates can be made to look like conventional
swing
gates rather than the normal industrial style, these can be in steel or
timber on steel frame. We are in the process of installing three sets for a
customer at the moment which when closed look like a continuation of the
fence.
The drive units we use for a small domestic gate including radio kit,
safety
beam and toothed racking are about £500.00. I don't have the prices for the
cantilever gear to hand but if you are interested I can dig out some info
and costs.
