Yes. I'm not sure I'd use the auto document feeder for that though because
it pushes the stuff over a roller that bends it on the way to get scanned.
But you can use it like a flatbed scanner as well if you want. I forget
what
the maximum resolution is, but it's high and IMHO good enough for family
pics.

I use the epson perfection 1640SU.
Great for piling a load of A4 (or slightly bigger) sheets onto it and
scanning lots in one go. I think it's very fast, but then I've only had an
old flatbed scanner to compare it to and that was pathetically slow.

Can't find any scanners really with auto-sheet feeders most of them have
a auto photo feeder but that's about it.

We use an HP Officejet with Document Feeder, and it was pretty poor in
everything we tried... right up until we got a copy of ABBYY Finereader.
That software is the absolute Mutt's nuts, does amazingly good OCR, and
is
*lightning* fast.
