You only need 3 wires connected. Pins 2, 3 and 5.
Wire up with pins 2 & 3 swapped over.
Works fine but you have to wait a few seconds for data to appear. I thought
mine was wired up wrong cause I didn't wait long enough.

Finally got a chance to look at my MV1000 manual this morning - no cables
came with my box.
Am I right in thinking that a null modem serial cable similar to:
