Mark,
I know rock all about this stuff so I think this would help me as I
currently run 3 web servers which I access via the IP address and
different ports (this is the only way I know). I was only thinking today
it would be nice to access these via www.*whatever*.co.uk, is this what
your article will cover as well or is this something completetely
different.
Cheers,
Keith Y

OK, here's what I'm going to do...
I'm going to write up my current document in a form that Mark can
make use of, and submit it as an article for www.automatedhome.co.uk -
I'll ask Mark to announce it on the list by one of his "subject +
link to automatedhome" posts, which I find excellent.
I will write the document in a way that both talks through the
general principles, then offers "inserts" on how to do it using a
specific product - Apache. I will send a copy of the document to
Gerard, and ask him to write the equivalent "inserts" for IIS.
As such, we'll end up with a document that hopefully does two things:
- Gives a general networking primer
- Gives specific "how tos" for two different, popular products
I would hope that the apache-only version can go live in a couple of
days, but will be replaced by the twin-product version a few days
after that.
Regards,
Mark
