The Idratek kit looked very interesting a lot of thought gone into the
modules. There are some notable fundamental things that need fixing
with it before I think most ukha's would touch them.
First being there's not much documentation on the protocol; you can
connect up via RS232 and send commands there but you oblessly need to do
a lot of work.
They have a bit of software called Cortex that you configure and monitor
your idranet devices with, it's written in Delphi - not the nicest
looking software in the world though.
The other biggest thing is the people don't seem to like the look of the
modules (old 1960's NHS style people keep telling me).
A lot of thought has gone into designing the modules, the protocol has
priorities etc and cortex does not need to be running on a global pc
once configured etc.
Overall a nice product, if they could sort out the open protocol,
documentation and look and feel of the modules I think they would have a
very good product.
Kind Regards,
Chris Bond

For those of us that didn't attend UKHA2003 (and there's a whole other
thread running about that right now), would someone care to tell us a
little about Homebrain and Idratek ??
As Mark mentioned, the websites are just up with logos - and I'm dead
curious as to what it was they demo'ed.
Cheers,
Rob
