If I could get a refund, subject to the room being covered, I'll book up
for 2004 as early as it's available.  Given the success of 2003, I'd be
happy to bet on the event getting enough people through the door next
year.

Perhaps there could be some pro-rata refund if you book early but
can't attend due to other commitments, subject to the minimum fees of
the event being covered?? I don't think hiking the price
significantly would help as I don't think people would then attend on
the day.
