Re: Re: Jog Dial - where can I buy ?
Hi Patrick
How did you do the interface into the micro? I saw reference to a sine wave
which is not the best for digital inputs. Would you use opamps to make it
into a digital signal, use sine into D type flip flops (if you can) or what
other choices? I have been looking into this myself for menu navigation.
Ideally I want most of the work done by the time the data is read into the
micro to aid simplicity.
Thanks
Ian

Jog dials rule! I've not been able to find one with the push-select
action. The rotary bit is easy enough - look for rotary encoders or
digital rotary encoders. Farnell do a simple rotary encoder which
outputs a dual pulse train which is phased depending on direction on
speed of rotation for about three quid. I made do with a separate
push button for the select action immediately below the jog dial.
