Subject: [ukha_d] Automated washing machine

Whilst looking round the Hotpoint factory in north Wales, we were shown
washing machines on automatic test cycles. This done by sending infrared
commands to the front panel of the washing machine from a small device
positioned in front of the machine on test. From the washing machine
front panel you wouldn't even know there was an IR receiver there, it
only for engineer use. This got me thinking about the possibility of
home automation for washing machines. Just need to find a robot to put
the clothes in and take them out.
