Tim,

I think one of the links described a standard mouse 'conversion' that's
prolly cheaper than doing anything yourself.
If you can get an old serial mouse you could just use it's serial output
rather than the mouse driver.
Thinking about it I don't know if you can have two mice connected to the
same PC and operating independently i.e. one is standard windows UI mouse
the other is used by a custom app...

Did you develop you own decoding circuit, or buy something ready made ? One
of Dave's links included a circuit diagram, but if you've already developed
one and interfaced it to a PC, that may be the quicker route for me.
