Well, since you ask....

Actually it's all fine.  Unfortunately I've only got 2 PC's in the house
(and several laptops), one of which is my primary server and running a RAID
config, the other is an ancient Dell that can't recognise the 120GB drive,
so I can't actually make use of the Turbonet card yet :-S as I need to
change the IP address.

Other that that the Maxtor is happily ticking away, and I spend most of
Sunday afternoon re-entering the season passes and thumbs; great fun!
Zzzzzz.

I would say that the Maxtor is noisier than the WD that came out; not a
problem for me as it's in the lounge, but those with TiVo's in the bedroom
may want to consider the Samsung drives.
