Re: Smartlinc Probe Monitor Project

Hi Steve
Decide to try a little surgery on one of the probe links to see if i could
bring it back to life..
Opened it up and on the pcb was an ic LM567 ,some caps and resistors and a
transistor, all surface mount of course....Suspected the ic so bought some
dil versions and replaced using wire links ...
still didnt work so tried the transistor using a npn bc 547...still no
joy...tried a pnp transistor bc 559 and it WORKED...although the off delay
is about 20 seconds..if i can source the proper transistor it should be
back in action..Will have a go at the other one tomorrow just replacing the
transistor and see what happens.....So if one pops most likely the output
transistor......

I had one pack up after a few weeks use with no warning, so I'd guess
these things are pretty fragile.
