Be careful and try to get some sample shots first. I've got a =A31000 JVC
combined Video and Still camera and whilst the video is fine the still
camera is c**p. Even at a high resolution the shots are grainy and lack
depth. My old Kodak web site special digital camera knocks spots off it
and that was only =A3100 :-)

Things may be different for the model you have in mind.

Cheers
Don

Looking for something myself ATM keith - I've been looking at the Cannon

mv600/650, which has had some good reviews lately (the 600 is < 400 on
ebuyer),=20
or the panasonic nvds60, which I have recently used the predecessor of
and=20
thought it gave good piccies for the money....

Am torn though between getting one with a memory card slot, to use as a
stills=20
camera only, and just getting one that does good video for the money.
Already have a stills camera, albiet a couple of yrs old - but it's a
higher=20
resolution than the camcorders offer in this price range...otoh, the=20
attractiveness of only carrying one item around......this is why I
haven't=20
bought yet :/

cheers,

T.
