That sounds ideal - perhaps its an xAP app ??
Way beyond me. I did get some activeX stuff with the Meteor.
Just pinging an address would work - good thinking !!
I will now wait patiently for someone to come along and offer :)
Cant really offer anything in return - maybe a bit of Cbus equipment...
Dean.

If you had a machine permanently switched on which has a spare com port
you could write or ask someone to write a small application which looks
at the output from the meteor and then simply pings an Internet host
when a match is made. This would cause the router to go on line. There
are loads of tools around which could form the basis of this sort of
thing.
I am not sure but I believe there is some CLI application available for
the meteor, it may already have some form of scripting capability?
Someone with a meteor may be able to answer that one!
Didn't someone on the list write the HomeSeer Meteor plug in?
I don't mean to volunteer someone else but who ever it was may be
prepared to share some of the detail with you - I am not too sure of the
implications! That said there could be plenty of technical reasons why
this is not as easy as it sounds.
That's about as far as I can go with it so good luck!
