RE: Help needed.....may loose job....
Thanks Gentlemen for your input, very much appreciated, I have just had 2
l=
ittle children (12 yrs old) ask if they can see the Meerkats but I had to
=
turn them away as I am not feeling good about myself, and I love to
encoura=
ge children in all they do.....
This contract is worth =A34.2m to us and as such the management has gone
ov=
erboard in the biggest way possible.
All I am doing is fitting RAM and checking the BIOS sees it but they want
2=
people to supervise it!
I had been arguing that ALL the work I do is 100% no matter how big/small
t=
he contract, to which they have been replying, "yes but this is a big
contr=
act!"
They have NEVER had any problem with my workmanship, (past 4 years), I
love=
this job, and I always put myself in the position of the customer, how do =
they want to receive their hard paid for kit? perfect condition is what I
w=
ill give...always.
Thanks again.
B.

Hi Brian,
Being earthed is NOT the important thing.
the Important thing is to be at the same potential as the equipment being
worked on.
If you were connected to earth and the PC was not connected to anything
the=
n
you can zap it just as much as if the PC were earthed and you werent.
By wearing a wrist strap connected to the chassis of the equipment you were
working on you ensured that there was no difference in potential between
your body and the hardware therefore you can not zap the internals of the
PC.
Hope everything works out OK.
