I know exactly what you mean.
The X10 and CM11 worked straight away, but getting Comfort
has been a right pain.  The MH web interface provides nice
buttons for "Front Door" state, but if you click then it
tries to write a new state to the "Front Door" !
All of my Comfort devices are input only so far. (Doors
and PIRs)

That's what I'm thinking right now.
I've picked up perl very easily and could go down that
route, but don't really want to, if I can help it.
