I have homevision interfaced to Comfort, setting an output should just be a
case of send

O!nnss to the serial link

nn is the output number 01- 40H for Comfort outputs, 81H to F8H for IRX
Outputs
ss is the output status 00=off, 01=on, 02=change state , 03 = Pulse Output
for 1 second, 04 - Flash Output at 1 sec On/Off rate

The key thing is that comfort will not respond to any RS232 input commands
unless you have logged in first using the

LU1234 - where 1234 is the user code.
