RE: Should a US X10 remote be compatible?

USA uses 418 MHz, UK uses 433 MHz - sorry.

Subject: [ukha_d] Should a US X10 remote be compatible?

I recently posted about trying to track down an X10 learning remote
with a DVD keypad. I managed to find what I wanted in the States, and
ordered it, along with some external motion detectors (all the ones I
have seen in the UK were for internal use).

The package has arrived, but I can't seem to get any of them to talk
to my UK kit. The remote flashes its LED at me when I punch buttons,
but that is it. While my existing Marmitek remote is working fine.

I realised there are voltage issues between the US and UK, but
thought that battery-powered items would be ok. Can anyone confirm
whether US X10 remotes and motion detectors should work with UK
modules, and suggest what else I might be missing?

Chris
