RE: Power Supplies

Likelyhood is that unregulated was specified because the unit itself has
regulation on board ... it is always OK to use a *REGULATED* PSU in place
of
an unregulated one as long as the current requirement of the device is
within the capacity of the PSU.

It is not OK to use an unregulated PSU in place of a regulated one...
