[Advert] Home Automation Affiliate Scheme

If anyone has a Home Automation related site and wanted to earn
commission from it via Home Automation sales, maybe they could help us
beta test our new affiliate system
http://www.SimplyAutomate.com/Affiliate.asp/=20

I think it would be appropriate for people who recommend, review or
explain products in their sites. That way they can read the article
then click on the product to buy it! We will then pay you 10% of the
sales revenue.

I'd like to get comments collected and fixes in place over the next 2-3
days so that we can take it to the general public some time next week.
I'm especially interested in bugs (obviously) but also whether the
instructions are clear enough, reporting up to scratch, terms reasonable
etc.=20=20

The scheme is open to all, quick to set up and free of charge to join.
I'll let folks know when the beta test is over and the system is in full
production.

Regards
Darryl.

Subject: [ukha_d] Fingerprint scanners

Can anyone who has a Compaq fingerprint scanner tell me whether it=92s
possible to use them as an input to a HA system or whether the drivers
are limited to username/password applications?

I had a thought that it might be nice to have one in the AV Room, linked
via Cat5 to my HA server to perform a simple task such as turning all
equipment on/off. (I=92ve got HV, ACE, HS etc so the control side is not a
problem). Can a parallel device be run over Cat5 successfully (providing
there are enough data lines)?

Paul.
