Is it not possible to get an unswitched live feed from 'somewhere' off the
same lighting circuit - and then feed this to your LM15/ceiling rose ?
Maybe
even in worst case from a multigang switch where the live goes down and is
looped back to the top (effectively looping out an unused or redundant
switch). This sounds to require less decorative disruptions as well as will
be in floor or loftspace.
There is a slight risk in just pulling neutrals from anywhere (another
circuit) that you unbalance the load currents on the live and neutral
circuits. If you have earth leakage breakers that protect some of your
property - either because you have a split consumer unit - or because you
have two or more consumer units - then you could be feeding the live side
through a breaker but providing the return (neutral) not through the
breaker
- thus the breaker will see an unbalanced load and trip (it will assume the
difference current is leaking to earth).

Alas, it appears that the wires have been laid without conduit, and
are simply embedded deep in the plaster. Looks like they were saving
money all over when they built these houses.
There is one possibility that has occurred to me - there is a 13 amp
socket at skirting board level on the other side of the wall. It is
possible that I could drill through and run a feed from neutral from
that without too much grief or redecoration required, which would
then give me a live and neutral to run the module from. As the live
is still coming from the lighting circuit, I think that should still
be ok, safety-wise.
Comments?
