Mv1000

I knew it would not work :-(

Just taken delivery of my first Mv1000 and can not configure it...

I have connected a serial cable with a gender-changer on one end to a comm.
port on a W2K box, opened Hyper Terminal made a new connection with the
correct settings booted the Mv1000, the green light flashes as stated, goes
off, comes back on, then after about 30 seconds goes off again.

I have a feeling the box is okay but HT is not displaying anything...

I have not used HT very much, read never, so can anyone give me any
pointers please?

The documentation says to turn off echo and LF but how do I do that? I
thought type "echo off" but I do not think that has done
anything...
