And this would serve as a verified alarm for the Police. ACPO dictates
that the police will not attend unless the alarm has been verified. The
various alarm companies have several means of verifying alarms. They
range from calling the house for a password, to video cameras monitored
remotely. My favorite on a cost/efficiency scale was the one that used
mic's in the PIR's to listen to the house from the ARC, and call the
police if they could hear burglars. much cheaper than video systems and
supriseingly they had a better "hit" rate too.
