I've just been through the same process
I've gone from PalmPilot to Handspring to an iPAQ. Then tried my Nokia for
a
while, but too fiddly. Wanted 802.11b so went for a Sharp Zaurus running
Linux with a DLink card, really good. But really wanted something with
802.11 on board, so sold that and went for a Palm Tungsten, its was ok but
v.poor 802.11 reception and the browser supplied was a bit buggy. Just sold
that today and have now done a full circle and am back with a PocketPC
based
Dell Axim X5 together with a CF 802.11b card.
Having tried out 3 operating systems in a month, i must admit the PocketPC
is best. I've also taken to reading E-Books and again PocketPC came out
best
with choice of MS Reader Palm Reader and Adobe all available on PocketPC.
Axim is one of the most competitively priced PDA's, the performance model
starts @ £243 inc VAT and is of yesterday supplied with PocketPC 2003 with
better browser facilities etc.
Dean.

My trusty Psion 5mx has packed in and as it has been repaired before
I'm considering moving over to a Palm or Pocket PC based PDA. I'm
lost without it and want to buy something v. soon.
I use my Psion as a diary, an address book, I write occaisonal short
reports in Psion Word, I pick up e-mails and newsgroup postings (but
don't surf - too slow), I sync with MS Outlook and also sync address
books in my mobiles and I use Route and Street mapping s/w.
Occaisonally i play the odd game when stuck in an airport.
I have to admit I like the keyboard on the Psion so would miss that
on an IPAQ or whatever so would probably buy a fold away one.
Looking around I've been taken with Sony Clie's but probably only
because of the additional gadgets - which I probably wouldn't use!
Also I'm not sure I want to go down the Palm route - especially as I
value clean syncs with MS Outlook and exchange of Word / Excel docs.
So I'm considering an IPAQ - which one? or a Tosh (E750?) I'd
probably run to £4-500. All suggestions gratefully received.
Malcolm
PS - my mobiles are Bluetooth... :-)
