Yes, to mount the switch, you drill a hole large enough to mount the
switch assembly in, with the leads leading into the wall. I then had
wired a homerun to each window to connect the system. Everything is
within the wall. (I did that during the framing stage when the walls
had
not been completed)

As suggested, if you can get a cross section, it would let you get a
good look into the window frame - maybe even try your hand at it before
the real thing. You will also want to make sure you select the right
location in the fixed frame "track" and window frame to make sure
they
line up (obviously) but are also have an acceptable gap.
