A while ago I posted asking for info re. sending extended X10 codes via IR. Well Kwong Li from Laser generously sent me an example of their upgraded firmware for the IR543AH which apparently they had been unable to get working.

I installed the new firmware (a PIC replacement) on Saturday which was relatively painless and after a couple of hours of googling, reading and experimention I managed to format the IR codes for my Pronto correctly and successfully sent extended codes to my LD11s for absolute dimming and Instant On. (Extended code 49, data 0-63) :-). I'm currently unaware of any other extended codes to test but the firmware allows for any command or data value from 0 to 255 to be sent via IR and onto X10.

I currently have a spreadsheet to generate the required IR code strings for pasting into ProntoEdit but will hopefully produce a small application to do the same job a little less clumsily. I've forwarded the finer details including some examples onto Laser so hopefully it should be available shortly.....

Regards

Dean
