O.K.
I would say that most of the automators on this group, who use PC based
controller (Homeseer, Autom8it, Mister House...) have server in node 0
running 24/7 and use web access. Node 0 is usually in loft/basement/garage
and not so conveniently located. Therefore web access is essential (e.g. on
Tablet PC, IE running in kiosk mode)
Looking forward to see socket server soon.

  other computer from MainLobby using Girder though.

  Right now, there isn't a way to control MainLobby from a webpage, but
  once the socket server is setup, that could change quickly.
