I agree.
For example, the BLP25 vaccine is a 25 amino acid sequence of the MUC-1
mucin. The MUC-1 vaccine is licenced globally to Biorama Inc by the
patent-holders. The patent-holders are the Dana-Farber Cancer
Institute,
and Imperial Cancer Research Technology ltd.
Imperial Cancer Research Technology ltd. is the technology transfer
company owned by the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. This company acts
to
licence patents to raise money for its parent for further research.
Presumably those who disapprove of the patents being applied for by
companies will take this into account when deciding whether to sponsor
the Imperial Cancer Research Fund :-)
