Re: XBox - was Windows XP Media Center Edition Review

There's no doubt about it, a PC will always be better for games.  In my youth I used to play a few games on the PC (although I was never a big gamer - mainly Grand Prix 1,2,3 etc).

However since I got a wireless LAN at home I've become a much more social computer user.  In the Kitchen etc with the laptop rather than locked away in the study.  Indeed the only time I use the power of my main machine in the study these days is mainly for video work (ripping, encoding, burning to DVD etc).

So an xbox appeals.  Yes it's quick and dirty, but so is a pot noodle :)  Also, it's much easier to use a console with the projector in the AV room, and Darren tells me the sound from the optical out on his home cinema setup is superb!

M.
